Commonly known as CBD, Cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid concentrate derived from strains of hemp. Cannabidiol is one of at least over 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant that does not produce intoxicating effects.

ECS or the endocannabinoid system is a structural/biological system that is composed of endocannabinoids and the receptors they are bound to, cannabinoid receptor (type 1, CB1) and cannabinoid receptor (type 2, CB2). Found to be involved in the regulation of the number of physiological and cognitive processes that happen in the human body, the endocannabinoid system is involved in the processes of the human body.

What are Cannabinoids?

A group of chemical compounds found, not exclusively, in cannabis, Cannabinoids are produced endogenously by the human endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoids can also be found in botanical sources like hops and some varieties of Echinacea. To date, over 100 cannabinoids have been concentrated with two of the best known being cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), with the latter of the two, THC, only being psychoactive.

How is CBD made?

Do Vive CBD products contain any THC?

There can be a tiny, trace amount of THC that can be found in most hemp-derived CBD products sold on our website. Although, Vive CBD does comply with the federally-mandated THC limit of less than 0.3% THC (dry weight) in any of our products.

If I take CBD will I test positive during a drug test?

While there may be a tiny trace amount of THC in CBD products, it does not mean that a positive test is possible. Drug tests are not uniform and each has a THC threshold that made yield a positive test result in comparison to others which would result in a negative result. Vive CBD holds no liability for positive test results on a drug test. We suggest that you not use CBD products if passing a drug test is a concern to you.

We do this because we want to make sure that all of our Vive CBD products not only leave you satisfied but that they're also of the highest quality and safe.

Is the ethanol used in the extraction of CBD safe for human consumption?

Yes! The CBD we use in our products is extracted with cane ethanol, which is the same thing you'll find in alcoholic drinks. Our testing process is in place to ensure that the CBD oil in our products is free of residual ethanol. In the instances where the raw CBD oil is transformed into CBD isolate, additional testing is complete for potency and solvents, as well. All final batches of CBD concentrate are also quality-tested by a third-party lab as well. All test results are available on each product description page. All test results are regularly updated as new batches are created to product additional CBD products on the Vive CBD site.

How do I store my CBD products?

We recommend storing all your Vive CBD products in a cool, dry place. It's not necessary to refrigerate your CBD products, but it's important that they not experience flux in temperature. We also suggest that you shake any fluid Vive CBD before use. Make sure that any cap on any Vive CBD bottled products and placed on tightly after each use.

Can I use Vive CBD products if I take other medicines?

We suggest that you consult your doctor before adding any Vive CBD products into your regime. Any CBD products have interacted with certain drugs in a manner that is similar to grapefruit. If your physician has told you not to consume grapefruit due to other medications you are currently taking, then you should not take any CBD products. There are compounds in grapefruit that have shown to interact with pharmaceutical drugs by inhibiting the cytochrome P450 enzymes, a liver enzyme that metabolizes pharmaceutical drugs. CBD also inhibits these enzymes in your liver when consumed in high dosages.

How much CBD should I take?

Because Vive CBD products can be used for a wide-range of cases, dosages can vary. The serving size should be contingent on the following factors: body weight, metabolism, succinct body chemistry, and other metabolic factors. Vive CBD can not make recommendations on the dosage our customers should be consuming. We here at Vive CBD suggest starting off with the smallest possible dosage per Vive CBD product and increase the serving slowing until the desired effect is achieved.

Is CBD psychoactive?

While the World Health Organization defines psychoactive substances as those "that, when taken in or administered into one's system, affect mental processes, e.g. cognition or effect," CBD is not intoxicating in its effects. Vive CBD products do not produce feelings of euphoria, stupor, nor do they produce loss of one's own control, which are often associated with the effects of THC ingestion. Research on CBD suggests that this because CBD does not bind to the CB1 receptor in the same way that THC adheres to the receptor. CBD has been shown in some studies to modulate or reduce the intoxicating effects of THC.

What does High Potency and Standard Potency mean?

Any Vive CBD products labeled as "High Potency" contain 50 mg of CBD, while our "Standard Potency" products contain 15mg of CBD.
